At 2,281 feet long the Usk Bridge spans the Pend Orielle River one hour North of Spokane, WA. The length of the bridge, coupled with the requirement to maintain one lane of traffic during construction, posed significant logistical challenges. Conway completed the hydrodemolition of the bridge deck, silica fume overlay, bridge joint replacement, damaged concrete repairs, wood pile splice and wood pile FRP wraps on time and budget. To satisfy traffic restraints, Conway performed the hydrodemolition next to live traffic while protecting the traveling public from flying debris. Over the course of the project, Conway processed over one million gallons of contaminated water resulting from the hydrodemolition of the bridge deck.
