Conway Construction Company rehabilitated four bridges along the scenic Rogue River and Umpqua highways. Work included historic concrete bridge rail and cantilever removal and replacement, steel bridge rail installation, bridge jacking and bearing replacement, seismic strengthening, timber cap removal and replacement, crack injection, Silica Fume Overlay, drainage improvements and roadway improvements. CCC completed this challenging project on time by meeting challenging on time and budget problems with creative solutions. For example, CCC found a way to place the second stage of the Silica Fume overlay in November at 4,000 feet elevation with nighttime freezing temperatures while meeting ODOT’s stringent cold weather curing requirements.
