Tributaries of the Cowlitz River drain a large region including the slopes of Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, and Mount St. Helens. Winding its way toward the Columbia River, the Cowlitz augers hard against the embankments of remote forest roads frequently causing damage. Road repairs must take place during the brief, annual period of lower flows. Conway reestablished some of these roads by constructing MSE walls, culverts, revetments, river diversions, and other repairs. Conway completed this job under live traffic and on time.
